Pape Heads to Turkey
Senegalese forward Pape Habib Guèye has completed a permanent move to Turkish Super Lig side Kasımpaşa S.K. for a significant undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old joined the Dons in August 2023 from Belgian club KV Kortrijk.
Six months later, he went on loan to Norwegian outfit Kristiansund Ballklubb to secure regular game time.
Following a solid run with KBK, he returned to Scotland and made an impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign, scoring six goals in his opening eight games for the now Jimmy Thelin-led Aberdeen, before a muscle injury saw him miss the last four months of the calendar year.
He returned to the fitness in mid-January of 2025, and although he wasn’t able to recapture that same goalscoring hot streak, he played a significant role in the club winning the Scottish Cup for the first time in 35 years.
“We wish Pape all the very best with his transfer to Turkey, and we thank him for his contributions during his time at Aberdeen, notably his positive impact in the Scottish Cup Final”, said Dons boss Jimmy Thelin.
“We’re pleased with our recruitment so far this summer and the work remains ongoing to bring in further reinforcements and improvements ahead of the window closing. We are still shaping the squad.
“We thank Pape for his efforts and wish him all the best with the next chapter in his career.”
Pape departs the Dons having played 36 competitive games in Red, scoring eight goals, contributing two assists whilst showcasing some handy dance moves!
Everyone at AFC would like to thank him for his contribution whilst at Pittodrie and wish him every success in the future.
