Richard Jensen Departs the Dons
Defender Richard Jensen has this evening left the club.
A Finnish international, Richard joined the Dons in August 2023 from Polish side Górnik Zabrze on a three-year deal.
In his first season with Aberdeen the 29-year-old was a regular starter and in total has made 41 appearances in a red shirt. He spent the majority of last season on loan with Danish Superlige side Vejle Boldklub where he gained valuable playing time.
“We thank Richard for his contributions during his time at Aberdeen”, said Dons boss Jimmy Thelin.
“He has been a model professional and a valuable member of the squad however, at this stage in his career Richard wants regular game time and unfortunately, we cannot promise him that at this moment.
“We wish him every success in his next chapter.”
Richard started his football career with HJK Helsinki, but moved to FC Twente’s Academy in 2012, aged just sixteen.
The defender had an impressive four seasons with Roda before he moved to Górnik Zabrze in the summer of 2022, making 36 appearances for the Polish side before moving to the North-east.
