Jimmy Thelin on our pre-season victory
Jimmy Thelin spoke to RedTV after goals from Ante Palaversa and Nicky Devlin gave the Dons a 2-0 victory over Cove Rangers this afternoon.
“We have been working on being more available on the pitch to create some relations.
“The way we want to play in the build up, I think the players tried really well and some stuff we can keep working on and keep doing. Sometimes you have to adjust and improve but overall, the players’ ambitions were there.
“Their relations and the connections inside that we share the same picture on the pitch and I think the players help each other.
“Also some of the younger kids, growing up and doing better on the pitch also.
“Adil is a good player to open up low blocks and get space for others. The last pass he has high quality there. It was good to see his first game now. He hasn’t trained with the team for a while now, so it’s the first time on the pitch. It was good to see his movements and the adaptation to his teammates.
“We’re going to have some other games now ahead of us, and it’s going to be, more and more intense. It’s good to get some players for 90 minutes today and, some players who haven’t trained so much. I think everybody’s looking sharp. It’s still early, and we have things to improve. The main thing today was how the team build up and, how we help and support each other.
“It was really nice to see him (Zak To). He did really well when he come on the pitch today. Also the other game now (Turriff United v Aberdeen XI), some other players haven’t played for a while, some injuries, and they need ninety minutes in in the legs.
“It was good to have this opportunity to have two games today and get everybody playing time.
“It’s good to be back, and it’s nice to see everyone. Hopefully we can create something good this season.”
