Broadrick seals permanent return home
Defender Jessica Broadrick has returned to the Club on a permanent transfer following a successful loan spell during the second half of season 2024/25.
Broadrick, who doesn’t turn 21 until July, is a name that needs no introduction to the Red Army, with the popular figure already accumulating 136 appearances for the AFC Women’s team since making her debut at just 15.
Manager Scott Booth is pleased to see Broadrick return to the North-East for good.
“I am really pleased that Jess will remain an Aberdeen player.
“She is someone that I enjoy working with greatly, and she has all the attributes to be a top defender.
“It is familiar surroundings for her, and I think she is really happy to be back here.
“For her age she has an incredible level of experience under her belt, and I am looking forward to working with her when we return for pre-season.”
The former Scotland U19’s captain elected to join Heart of Midlothian in the summer of 2024, and after making seven appearances for the Oriam side, she returned to Aberdeen in February of this year, making her second Dons debut against Motherwell, immediately resuming her place in the XI.
“It feels great to be back. Coming back on loan was really great for me, it gave me the confidence that I needed, and all the staff were great.
“Regular game time is something that I believe here at Aberdeen I can compete for going forward. The environment that’s been created is going towards that professional model, and that’s something I’ve always dreamt of.
“It’s a dream to play for Aberdeen. I’m really glad to be back. I’ve had so many people that I’ve learned from, and being part of such an ambitious club again can only be a good thing for me.
“The most important thing for me is enjoying whatever I do, and I really do enjoy my football, but I also really enjoy the learning process, and trying to get better with every day.”
