The Dons will welcome Ipswich Town back to Pittodrie as part of their pre-season plans.

The Portman Road side will travel to the North-east on Friday 25th July with the match due to kick off at 7.30pm.

Aberdeen knocked Sir Bobby Robson’s star-studded side, who were also the UEFA Cup holders at the time, out of the competition after a 3-1 victory at Pittodrie in September 1981, one of the stadium’s most famous nights.

Ahead of this match, pre-season preparations for the first team will kick off with a training camp in Portugal.

Jimmy Thelin and the team will head to the Algarve for a 10-day intense warm weather camp to build up their fitness ahead of the 2025/2026 season kicking off.

Back on home soil, the first team will take on Cove Rangers at Balmoral Stadium with plans well underway for another match on the 19th of July, details of which will follow.

Meanwhile an Aberdeen XI will face Peterhead at Balmoor Stadium on Wednesday 9th July in a well-deserved testimonial match for Rory McAllister before heading to Harlaw Park on Wednesday 16th July for a testimonial match for Locos legend Mark Souter. The final match will be against Formartine United on Saturday 19th July to mark Graeme Roger’s testimonial year.

Ticket details for all pre-season matches will be announced in due course.

Fixtures for the new SPFL Premiership season will be announced on Friday 20th June.
