International Preview | June 2025
The domestic season may have drawn to a close but there is one final international break before season 2024/25 officially comes to a close. Here is where our Dons are on duty over the coming days:
Topi Keskinen – Finland U21
Topi joins up with the Young Owls for the UEFA European U21 Championships in Slovakia. The winger and his teammates are currently in a pre-tournament training camp in Germany before moving to Slovakia for the tournament where they will face The Netherlands in their opening game on 12th June. They will also come up against Ukraine and Denmark in Group D.
Dimitar Mitov – Bulgaria
Our Scottish Cup penalty shoot-out hero once again joins up with his national side as they play two friendly matches. Dimi will be looking to add to his 10 caps when Bulgaria face Cyprus on Friday 6th June in Plovdiv before taking on Greece in Crete on Tuesday 10th June.
Kristers Tobers – Latvia
After missing out on the last international games due to injury, Kristers is back in the national team set-up as Latvia play a friendly match and a World Cup qualifier. They take on Azerbaijan in Riga in a friendly on Saturday 7th June. Albania visit Riga a few days later when the sides met in Group K of the World Cup qualifiers. Latvia sit third on their group with three points after two games.
Slobodan Rubezic – Montenegro
Rubi, who has spent the second half of the season on loan at FK Novi Pazar in Serbia, joins up with Montenegro for their two matches with Czechia and Armenia. Montenegro, who have taken maximum points from their opening two World Cup qualifiers, take on Czechia in Plzeň on Friday 6th June in Group L. They then play Armenia in Nikšić in a friendly match on Monday 9th June.
The club last week announced Oday Dabbagh’s loan spell with the club had come to an end. After winning the Scottish Cup with the Dons, the striker joins up with the Palestine squad for their World Cup qualifiers with Kuwait and Oman.
After winning the A-League Player of the Year ahead of his move to the Dons, Nicolas Milanovic joined up with the Australia squad for the first time for a training camp in Abu Dhabi.
Four of our young Dons are also joining up with their national sides. Goalkeeper Rodrigo Vitols joins up with the Latvia U19 squad for the Baltic Cup. Noah McDonnell is with the Northern Ireland U18 side for a training camp. Sam McLean and Theo Simpson are also both with the Scotland U17 side for a training camp.
Well done and good luck to all of our Dons for this international break.
