AFC Women | Squad Update
We can now provide an update on AFC Women’s playing squad following the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign.
Megan Sidey, Nicola Jameison, Laura Holden, Hannah Innes, Annalisa McCann, Grace Elder and Chloe Gover will all depart following the expiry of their contracts.
Chloe Gover leaves the Dons after six-years at the Club. She featured in AFC Women’s first ever match after the merger and in October of 2024 briefly became the team’s all-time appearance maker.
We are also saying goodbye to local girls Hannah Innes and Annalisa McCann who combined featured 135 times for the Dons over the years.
Laura Holden, who signed for the club in Summer 2023 will also be leaving, as will Megan Sidey, Nicola Jameison, and Grace Elder who depart after spending one season in the North-east.
Emily Kraft will also leave the club with her loan spell coming to an end.
We would like to thank the departing players for their tremendous service and wish them all the very best moving forward with their future careers.
We will maintain open dialogue about a potential return next season with Emma Ilijoski, Kerry Beattie and Jessica Broadrick, who all joined us on loan from Hearts this year.
Captain Hannah Stewart, alongside Madison Finnie, Phoebe Murray, Aimee Black and Darcie Miller all remain in discussion regarding extensions to their contracts.
Manager Scott Booth paid tribute to the departing Dons. He said:
“Myself and the rest of the staff wish all the players leaving us all the best for the future, in particular Chloe, Hannah and Annalisa who have, with the exception of a few short loan spells, spent their entire career at Aberdeen. They have all been a pleasure to work with and I have no doubt they will enjoy success in whatever comes next for them.
“I would also like to thank the players that joined us on loan this season for their immense contribution.
“We are still in discussions with some members of the squad, and we are hopeful that we will have some positive news to share in due course.
“It has been a successful season, and we are now looking forward to building a squad that will allow us to make season 2025/26 our best yet.”
