AFC POTY AWARDS 2024/25

The annual Aberdeen FC Player of the Year Awards, sponsored by Team Recruitment & Tulloch Recruitment, were held at the P&J Live on Thursday evening.

The awards for both our Men’s & Women’s teams were handed out on the night in front of an audience of over 1300, the largest banquet dinner ever held at the P&J Live.

The 10 award winners are listed below:

Aberdeen FC Community Trust Supporter Award
(Sponsored by CNR International)

This award recognises the outstanding contribution made by an individual, group, or organisation in support of the AFC Community Trust’s vision with the winner chosen by the Trust management team.
The Aberdeen FC Community Trust Supporter of the Year is Glen Cairns.

Glen has raised over £21,000 through the sales of his fantastic ‘One Night Under the Heavenly Dancers’ print – all proceeds of the 83 limited editions frames was donated to AFCCT in support of their work in the community.

Men’s Development Player of the Year

The winner of this award has been selected following consideration from the coaching staff at Cormack Park. This award honours the young player who has shone brightest this season, whether featuring for our U18s squad or whilst out on a development loan.

The winner of the Development Player of the Year is Dylan Lobban. Dylan has enjoyed a breakthrough season on loan at Cove Rangers, making 26 appearances scoring twice and helping Paul Hartley’s side into the League 1 Play-Offs.

Women’s Young Player of the Year
(Sponsored by Peterson)

This award recognises the young player who has made a significant contribution to the Men’s and Women’s first teams this season.

The winner of the Young Player of the Year is Aimee Black.

Season 2024/25 has undoubtedly been a breakout campaign for Aimee, the young defender has featured 28 times for Scott Booth’s side so far this season and has been rewarded for her excellent form with a call up to the Scotland U19s.

Men’s Young Player of the Year

The Young Player of the Year for 2024/25 is Topi Keskinen.

The Finnish winger has enjoyed a positive debut season since his summer move from HJK Helsinki, making his full Finland debut in September against Greece.

Men’s Players’ Player of the Year
(Sponsored by RAM Tubulars)

This award allows the players to select a team-mate who they believe has made the biggest contribution to the team during the season. The award is voted for by both squads in a private ballot.

Our 2024/25 Players’ Player of the Year award winner is Kevin Nisbet.

The on-loan Millwall forward has scored 13 goals in all competitions, including Saturday’s brilliant match winner against Hibs and his form has earned him a re-call to the Scotland squad.

Women’s Players’ Player of the Year

The AFC Women Players’ Player of the Year for season 2024/25 is Eva Thomson.

It has been an outstanding campaign for Eva, the No.18 has found the net seven times from midfield so far this season, as her personal collection of excellent goals continues to grow.

Women’s Goal of the Season
(Sponsored by Miller Plant Ltd)

This award is voted for by the Red Army, with the RedTV team drawing up the shortlist.

The 2024/25 Goal of the Season winner is Chloe Gover for her long distance free-kick against Montrose.

Men’s Goal of the Season
(Sponsored by Cable Solutions Worldwide)

Our 2024/25 Goal of the Season winner is Ester Sokler for his brilliant overhead-kick against Hibernian at Easter Road in November.

Due to his injury, Ester is currently at home at the moment spending some time with his family so Shayden, who provided the assist for the goal, accepted the award of behalf of his teammate.

Women’s Player of the Year

We gave our supporters the opportunity to vote for both the Men’s & Women’s Player of the Year awards, with fans asked to select the players they felt had the biggest impact on team performances this season, and who deserved to be the latest recipient of this coveted award.

The AFC Women’s Player of the Year award winner is Francesca Ogilvie.

Fran wins the Women’s Player of the Year award for the second time, and it is thoroughly deserved after a stellar campaign that has saw her score for the Dons at Pittodrie and become AFC Women’s all-time appearance maker.

Men’s Player of the Year
(Sponsored by Central Coaches)

The AFC Men’s Player of the Year for 2024/25 is Shayden Morris.

The winger, who came from Fleetwood, has enjoyed a standout season for the Dons, making 44 appearances in all competitions, scoring five times and assisting 12 goals.
