Eva Thomson | There's still lots to learn, but I think we're doing very well
Two-goal hero Eva Thomson shared her thoughts after her double sent Aberdeen Women on their way to a mightily important 5-2 victory against Queen’s Park on Sunday, ending a rough week on a high – and setting up Sunday’s trip to Hampden for the Scottish Cup Semi-final nicely.
“I just want to do the best for the team and obviously getting a few goals has been good for my confidence.
“We were disappointed from Wednesday because there were so many positives to take, especially from the first half. I think it was important that we managed to bounce back.
“Sunday was probably one of our biggest games of the season. We played some really good football, we kept the ball well and managed to get four different people on the scoresheet as well, so that’s a positive.
“Getting the three early goals was really important for us, and it allowed Scott to make some changes, get some fresh legs on and rest some players – it has been a busy week!
“I think that second goal is up there for one of my best. The one against Spartan’s was good, but I think that one today has probably just topped it!
“I think it was important that some of the girls who haven’t played that many minutes got a run out today. Because of our performance today, we were able to do that. There’s still lots to learn, but I think we’re doing very well.
“Sunday will be a very good occasion, which we’re ready for. It’s obviously good to get the three points before heading to Hampden.
“I’m looking forward to playing there. The pitch looks pretty big, so it’ll be it’ll be a tough one. Rangers are a very good opponent, but we’ll be ready. We know what to expect, and I think we’re very excited for the day.”
