Jimmy Thelin on our victory over Ross County
Jimmy Thelin was pleased that his side were able to keep a clean sheet at Ross County as the foundation for an important 1-0 win.
“It was a difficult game today, there were not so many chances for either team, but we were stable. We were playing as a strong team who are good with the second balls, but we were able to keep them away from our goal.
“Sometimes you need something extra in a game like this and we had it with Shayden’s goal. He ran from our half all the way into their area and he couldn’t make a better goal than that. We are so happy that he gave us this today, and I’m so happy to see his journey this season. He has taken small steps all the time and sometimes time is the best friend when you are in the development as a player. He’s grown into more responsibility on the pitch and defence also, but still has the skill for making assists and goals. He’s playing with a smile on his face, that’s good.
“But as well as a great goal, it was a solid defence also today, a clean sheet, and that is so important in away games when it’s difficult. I’m happy with the clean sheet and that goal and again the spirit the supporters gave us today all the 90 minutes.
“If you want to be consistent and fight for European spots, you have to be able to win games in different ways and that’s why I’m so happy today, we had a clean sheet, we were stable, so that’s the journey a team has to be on, different kinds of games and still find ways to win.
“The only thing we can focus on is our games and try to get the points we need. There’s still a lot of points to play for and we have to focus on our games to keep that momentum going.”
