After his goal at Celtic Park during the week, Shayden Morris was the player who spoke to the media on Friday lunchtime to look ahead to Sunday’s match with Dundee Utd at Pittodrie. RedTV subscribers can watch in full now.

“We’re looking forward to the game. We know how big the occasion is. They are close to us in the table. We’ve played them twice this season, both have been really tight games and with late winners as well. We know it’s going to be important to work hard until the end. The advantage for us is we’ve got the home support with us. You saw with the Kilmarnock game we scored late on and we had the support there. I feel like it’s going to be a big occasion but with the fans behind us we’re confident of getting the win.

“We’re not letting the Celtic defeat define us in any way. We felt the momentum coming back in the past few days, we’re definitely building on it. Of course if you look at the result of the Celtic game, it’s not great but there are a lot of positives to take.

“The main thing is we’re getting in good goalscoring opportunities but we need to take the chances. We’re not going to let that game hurt us in anyway. We’ve watched a lot of clips back. It’s an important game for us to learn from and to take into Sunday.

“I am really proud of myself for my numbers this season, four goals and nine assists. I am hoping to keep building on it and to keep adding numbers to my stats until the end of the season. Of course I want to be starting and doing it from the beginning. That’s my main goal. I am happy to keep building and helping the team.

“Dundee United are doing well this season, they’ve got a good coach in Jim Goodwin. I feel like the main thing for us is to stay focused throughout the whole game. They like to do things at the end of the game so we’ve got to keep that main focus towards the end of the game. They’re good with long throws and free-kicks, so we can’t concede any silly fouls. We need to focus on ourselves.

“It’s a better position we’re in than we were last season so we will definitely take it. We know from now until the end of the season every game is a cup final for us. Every game we go into will be full guns blazing.

“It’s a good type of pressure. We’re a big team in Scotland and we want to be up in third place. We know there are other good teams in Scotland. We’re not expecting it to be a massive gap. We’re dealing with that pressure well and trying to take every game as it comes, trying to get a win in every game and trying to finish the season well.

“I do feel my pace is a good tool to bring on at times. My focus is on trying to get into the starting eleven.”
