It is just important we are in the hat | Niamh Noble
Dons double scorer Niamh Noble took time to reflect on a good days work for the young left-back on Sunday afternoon after her brace in an exceptional individual 90-minute performance paved the way to victory for Aberdeen Women against Gartcairn.
“I think the first half is probably one of the poorest performances of the season, but we made changes at halftime and came out the second half, and we were a lot better. I think we felt good in the game after that. First 10 minutes or so, we had a few really good chances. And then it just kind of fell off, and it got really bad from there. It was disappointing, but we managed to turn it around in the second half. So that’s all it matters.”
“I think the subs made a big difference as well. It’s good to get fresh legs on and get different people on the pitch. I think it was good to get that reaction at halftime again. We’ve had that a few times with Scott now. His words at halftime made a big difference.”
“The first goal was 100% intentional, I was delighted to see it go in. The second one not so much, but I will take it! I think the first one maybe carried a wee bit in the wind, but I am still really happy. I don’t take many shots. I took a few later in the game as well that weren’t as good. It’s up there with my best goals. I’ve scored a few decent ones! It wasn’t from a corner at least.”
“Hopefully we can do the same in the Scottish Cup like we have done in the Sky Sports Cup and get a good run going. It will give us another boost. We’ll see who we get the next round, but it’s just important that we’re in the hat.”
“I think it’s just about being consistent every week and just try to build on each performance. I don’t think I look towards anything like that (Individual praise), but it’s just nice to get that consistency and just keep improving every week because that’s what I’m here to do and play for the club. I am enjoying it. It is really important to get a win going into the next couple of games before the break as well.”
“We’ve got some massive games coming up. We are back in on Tuesday for training, and we will look towards the Montrose game. We are looking to get the three points in both of them.”
“It’ll be nice to get a break and be nice to get a reset in, in between the season. It will be good to get that rest and see the family, but we have a couple of big games first.”
