We have to look to feed off the atmosphere
To preview the Dons William Hill Premiership game against Rangers, Nicky Devlin was the player who took part in the pre-match press activities.
“We are looking forward to it. The boys are all looking forward to it. It is a massive game for the club, and for everyone involved.
“We have been doing well, we are in a good place as a team and as a group of players we are all going in the right direction. It is another game we are looking to win.
“We are not thinking about anything other than trying to win a game of football. The manager has been stressing to us that it is a chance to go and win another game. And that is what we will try and do. Where that put us in the league table, and things like that, it will take care of itself. We know we have a tough game on our hands on Wednesday night. Rangers have shown this year already that they can get good results. We know that we will have to be at our best and that is all we can concentrate on, making sure the best Aberdeen turns up.
“If you had said we would be in this position after the game at Dens Park last season, I would not have believed you to be honest. It has been a remarkable turnaround but it is something we want to keep building on. Anyone who has watched our games so far, will know there is still a lot more to come from the team. The Manager has stressed that to us. He wants more. He is not satisfied for what we have done so far. We have to keep trying to improve every day. It has been a brilliant start to the season though.
“The manager has instilled a belief into the players to go out and try and win every game. And that is what we have managed to do so far.
“He also drills it into us that the next game is the only one that matters. He does not think two or three games down the line. Everyone’s full focus has to be on tomorrow night. And that has been the focus since the game finished on Saturday night, how do we get the win against Rangers.
“Being able to sell out the stadium again is fantastic. Some players might play it down but for me it gives you a real buzz when you walk out, or even going into the game, knowing every seat will be sold.
“The fans want to come and watch us just now. We are in a good place and we are winning games. We will need the supporters to play their part tomorrow night.
“We have to look to feed off the atmosphere.
“I am probably enjoying my football more than ever before. I don’t remember winning this number of games in a row. When you are winning games you are always enjoying it. It has been a brilliant start for me personally with the international recognition and with the team making the start to the season they have. It is exciting just now, that is the best way to describe it.
“You know that if you come to a club like Aberdeen and you start to win games, their will be an expectation. You want to play for a club that is expected to win. And it is about being able to handle it. That is how you grow as a team. That is how you get better. You have to want to match and meet these expectations. That is what we are trying to do. One game at a time.”
