Sivert Heltne Nilsen was the player who previewed the Celtic match. Before the team left for Glasgow the midfielder spoke to the media at Cormack Park during the club’s pre-match media conference.

“I think I would be looking forward to this game, no matter what form we were in. It is obviously a big match.

“We have to prepare like we do for all the other games.

“We don’t think about Celtic too much, we think about ourselves and our own performance. It is about getting that little bit better every match. We are likely to get tested that bit more in some parts of the game. They play with a high intensity so we have to be ready for it, but we also want to play with a high intensity so let’s see. It is going to be very interesting to meet them.

“I don’t know yet the team, I will obviously hope I will play but let’s see! I think all parts of the team will be very important, and to stay compact against a team like Celtic, is vital.

“I think in the last two games, it has not been the best version of Aberdeen. I think the performance from us can be a little bit better in some parts of our game, such as creating more chances. We also let the opposition in in the last two games. To get a result at Celtic Park we have to step up.

“We always talk about how we can get better. We talk about what we want to do more of, and the ideas are very clear. There is nothing new from the two games. We know how we want to play, and things are very clear I feel.

“I think we have a lot to improve. That is maybe a good thing. It is easier to work on the things that are not good because you have the confidence from winning, you can be harder on yourself because the performances have not been good enough. You can tell yourself you have been very bad! But you still have the confidence and stability in the team and as an individual. So you can grow easier when you win.

“The team spirit and mentality amongst the group has given us the results even although we have struggled in periods. We have managed to take the points and hopefully we can do that tomorrow.

“It is going to be interesting for the new guys and myself who have never played at Celtic Park before. All the teams in the league, it is the first time I am meeting them. You learn from the first time you meet them. The crowd, you are in a bubble as a player, that is my personal experience.”
