A delighted Hannah Stewart shared her thoughts at full-time following a mightily impressive win away to Queen’s Park, with the skipper scoring a sensational effort in the first half to send the Dons on their way.

“I think in the first half we dictated the play, we had a lot of the ball, and we created chances. We could have been three or four up going in at half-time, but we knew they would come out fighting.”

“In the second half we knew they would throw everything at us. We defended at times for our life, and we fought for the clean sheet. It is a really pleasing display.”

“A clean sheet is massive. It’s almost as pleasing as our two goals that we scored. The defence, they deserved it, they defended really today. So, to get that and then obviously get the two goals, it is really pleasing.”

“Nicola played a really good ball over the top, I just flicked it over the defender and then had a go and it went in, but it is a really good overall performance from everyone today. I knew Emily would score today. I just had a feeling that she would score. She deserves it, she’s been working hard. I am so pleased for her, and the defence was fantastic today as well, so it is an all around really good performance from the whole team.”

“I think Darcie did really well, she deserves her starting spot. She made excellent runs in behind and caused their defence real trouble. She created a lot of chances for us today, on another day we capitalise on that. I am really pleased for her. I thought Niamh was fantastic today. She clears a couple of the line, and she was defending for her life today. You could mention a lot of people today as it was a really good performance across the team.”

“Motherwell will be a difficult game against a team that is in and around us. We need to take positives from today, the way we defended, and our fast attacks, so we need to take all of those positives in and then show it next week.”
