Aberdeen FC Women have bolstered their squad with the addition of former Leicester City and Glasgow City youth team winger, Miriam MacLean.

The Nairn native made the move to England to represent Leicester at Under 14 level, returning to the Highlands to play for Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s U18’s. She then joined Glasgow City, where she has spent the last two seasons.

The winger had been involved with the Dons pre-season preparations but has been ruled out with concussion following a knock picked up in a friendly. MacLean is unavailable for Sundays trip to Hibernian.

“I am absolutely buzzing to sign for Aberdeen, I am really looking forward to getting going and getting some minutes into my legs. I can’t wait to be back fit, and back involved.”

Speaking on her arrival, manager Colin Bell said: “Miriam is another young talent with potential to continue her development here at Aberdeen as she adapts to senior football.

“She is fast and physically strong so will enhance our options within the squad.”
