AFC Women secure striker on loan
Aberdeen FC Women can today confirm the signing of striker Emily Kraft, who joins the club on loan from FA Women’s Championship side Southampton FC for the season.
Aged just 22, Kraft began her senior career in Germany where she played for Eintracht Frankfurt, before spells in England playing for Lewes and Southampton, who she joined in the summer of 2023.
Capped for the senior Republic of Ireland Women’s squad by then manager Colin Bell, Kraft represented Germany at both U15 and U16 level, before switching to Republic of Ireland, where she played for the U17s, scoring four goals on her debut against Serbia. In 2019 Kraft made her debut for the senior team, when she started against Belgium.
Speaking on her arrival, head coach Colin Bell said: “Emily is a player I know well having worked with her previously and I believe her experience will be of real benefit to the squad.
“I look forward to helping her to fulfil her potential here at Aberdeen.”
