With next weekend marking the return to competitive action and a blockbuster opening fixture with Rangers at the Balmoral Stadium for Aberdeen FC Women, returning midfielder Natasha Bruce caught up with RedTV to reflect on her return to the North-East and look ahead to the start of the league campaign.

“It has been positive, it feels really good to be back, I am delighted. After being here a long time previously I was keen to come back, but after meeting with Colin and hearing his philosophy and his plans for the season and where he wants to bring the club, that was the main driver.”

“I have found working with Colin really positive so far. He is really motivated. He has been good at getting the squad together, and he’s big on getting the squad together and getting us to gel, getting to know us and vice-versa.”

“Training has been really good so far. It’s been well structured. Obviously there has been a bit of pre-season fitness work, but also a lot of tactical and positional work as well, while Colin gets to know us as players. It’s been really intense, but its been at a good standard as well.”

“It has worked out nicely to have so many familiar faces join me as well as coming back to so many familiar faces. It’s nice to have so many friends in the team that I can gel with.”

“We are excited for the Rangers game. We are determined to show what we are about, but we also need to be realistic and show them respect. However, we are focused on us, and build for the season. It is a big game; this is why you want to play in the top league. We are at home, we are looking forward to it, we just need to make sure we put the hard work in on the pitch.”
