Junior Hoilett produced a third assist in two games as the Dons beat Motherwell 1-0, then pointed to the togetherness of the squad as he reason behind the upturn in Aberdeen’s league results.

“That was a great win, great performance, a crucial three points. The team is on a good run in the league right now, and we’ve got to maintain it. There’s some great talent at this club, some good players. We’ve had a few unlucky results in the past but we’re picking up momentum and we’ve got to carry it on, working day in, day out to get better, not only as an individuals but as a group. If we can maintain that, we’ll be fine.

“I’m enjoying my time here, gelling well with the team, it’s a good group. We bond on and off the field and it showed today. Everybody worked hard for each other, putting an extra 10% in to get the win over the line. It’s a great group of lads, a great changing room. It’s a joy fighting for each other on the pitch.

“I’m just focusing on winning, getting a few points for the team and getting better each day. Peter Leven has brought confidence into the squad. You can see how we’ve been playing since he took over. We’ve got a good momentum.

“We’ve just got to go back to training on Monday and work hard again each day. As long as we work hard in training, Saturday will come easy. The manager and staff have been great, setting us up in a great position to get three points. We’ve just got to keep working hard and fighting for each other.”
