Following an extensive consultation process, Aberdeen’s 120-year-old Pittodrie Stadium will undergo a digital makeover in the coming months with venue transformation specialists ADI adding multiple digital installations within the stadium ahead of the 2023/24 season.

As part of a continued desire to improve the match-day experience at Pittodrie and to drive commercial revenues, ADI will install a new state-of-the-art digital perimeter system and two LED ribbon scoreboards.

A new state-of-the-art digiBOARD system will be installed around the three-camera facing sides of the stadium and will work in harmony with the new scoreboards either side of the South Stand gantry, which will display a match clock and score update.

Aberdeen FC’s Head of IT and Digital, David Bowman, said: “We have been in discussions with ADI for a while and admired the digital transformations they have brought to a number of football grounds around the country.

“The move to three sides of perimeter LED along with two 16m long scoreboards at Pittodrie represents a significant investment for the Club but will undoubtedly provide a welcome improvement to the matchday experience for fans and will also provide some outstanding new commercial inventory for both current and prospective partners.”

Claire Fitzgerald Firth, Head of Engagement & Client Services, ADI added:

“Everybody at ADI is delighted to be working with Aberdeen moving forward. The Club has shown a real ambition to elevate their matchday experience and have invested in our state-of-the-art technology to help them achieve that.

“By adopting a consultative approach, we have been able to come up with a range of bespoke solutions that will modernise the venue. Not only will the digital displays improve the aesthetics, but they will unlock an array of fan engagement and commercial opportunities that never existed before.”
