As we get set to mark the fifth anniversary of AberDNA we are excited to share that memberships for 23/24 are on sale now.

Over 6,200 members have maintained their support of the Football Operation through the AberDNA membership, directly contributing towards our aim of becoming the Best Developer of Young Talent in Scotland.

Over the generations our best sides have been built around a core of young talent, produced through our Youth Academy or featuring youngsters identified and recruited from elsewhere before being given the opportunity to make their way in the game at Pittodrie.

As we approach the 40^th anniversary of glory in Gothenburg we are working tirelessly to identify the next Leighton to produce world-class saves between the sticks, a Miller or McLeish to command our defence, midfielders with swagger and steel like Simpson and Cooper, and match-winners at the top of the pitch like Black and Hewitt.

In the past couple of seasons, we have seen this part of our strategy starting to bear fruit with the emergence of some fresh Academy prospects in the first team, most notably Ryan Duncan, allied with the recruitment of top talents such as Duk and Bojan Miovski, taking our average age down to the youngest in the league.

Along with some notable exports in Calvin Ramsay and Lewis Ferguson, we have seen strong performances at every Academy level at home and abroad, with our U18s are currently top of the league with several exciting talents vying to break into the first team squad.

Encouraged by these developments we are keen to invest further in young talent to energise the side and light up Pittodrie on matchday’s!

Changes to AberDNA for 23/24

Talent Wall Recognition

To celebrate the increased support of AberDNA towards our young talent, we will be introducing permanent recognition of all members at Cormack Park on our new ‘Talent Wall’ which will be put in place ahead of the 23/24 season to inspire the stars of the future!

The ‘Talent Wall’ will spotlight your favourite young talents who made their mark at the club, either as a graduate from our Academy or as a young player brought the club at an early stage in their career. More details will follow in the coming weeks.

New Membership Categories & Pricing

Over the years we have been contacted by many supporters asking for a way to contribute more and with that in mind we have introduced two new membership categories for 23/24 offering additional benefits in return for increased support of the Football Operation. Full details on our new Platinum and Premium+ memberships can be found below.

To maintain the required level of investment in the Football Operation, allied with significant additional funds from the AFC Board, we have taken the decision to increase membership costs for the first time since the introduction of AberDNA in 2018.

This is not a decision that has been taken lightly but with the club’s cost base (excluding first team costs) having increased by circa 30% since 2017, it has been taken to maintain the net contribution of AberDNA at a level which will give us the best possible chance of achieving our goals on the pitch.

New for 23/24:

AberDNA Platinum

The new Platinum membership delivers an increased contribution to the Football Operation and in return includes the opportunity to enjoy a memorable matchday hospitality experience for 2* (worth up to £420) at Pittodrie along with all of the benefits of the Premium membership!

The hospitality experience in our Madri Lounge typically includes:

• Arrival 2.5 hours prior to kick-off
• Three course meal
• Pre and post-match drinks
• Lounge visit from an AFC Ambassador
• Team lines and official Red Matchday programme available
• Padded seats in the Richard Donald Stand
• Half time tea, coffee and Pittodrie Pie
• Man of the match presentation

In addition to the Platinum members will also be recognised on our new ‘Talent Wall’ at Cormack Park.

AberDNA Premium +

A number of Premium members have asked for additional ways to contribute directly to the Football Operation, with more flexibility in the benefits they receive. £60 of Dons Cash (more details coming soon!) allows members to choose how they utilise their benefits, whilst also increasing the monthly contribution to the Football Operation.

Renewing your membership

Supporters with memberships paid by Direct Debt will continue automatically so there is no need to do anything.

Supporters who paid their membership in full will need to renew to continue supporting the Football Operation.

There are several ways to renew:

One of the easiest ways to renew your membership is online, simply log in to your account online here, select which membership you want to renew and click ‘add to basket’ then ‘renew’ and finally ‘add to basket’ again. Make sure you are logged into your Dons Account to renew your membership.

If you are looking to upgrade your existing membership to one of our exciting new categories, please note that you are unable to complete this process online.

To upgrade please contact set@afc.co.uk with a note of your Dons ID and the change you are looking to make and they will arrange this for you.
