Local businesses from across the north-east recently joined forces with Aberdeen FC to tee off in the annual By Official Appointment (BOA) golf day at Newmachar Golf Club.

Despite the dreadful weather, the event saw BOA members from some of the 83 businesses who are part of the initiative, come together to enjoy an afternoon of networking on the fairway.

With a variety of prizes and complimentary gifts on offer, kindly donated by many of the BOA members, both golfers and networking attendees enjoyed a tee-rific day on the Swailend course before Aberdeen FC Club Captain, Joe Lewis, joined guests for the prize giving dinner.

B2B sales manager Adam Sinclair commented: “It was fantastic to see so many of our valued BOA members come together to enjoy a fantastic networking opportunity.

“The overarching aim of our BOA initiative is to bring together local business, many of whom are big AFC fans, and enable them to network, generate increased business and ultimately boost the local economy.

“There was a great sense of community amongst the participants, with many members enjoying the chance to catch up with contacts, old and new, and some even managing to secure a few sales on the course!”

Bob Christie, Managing Director of Concept Promotional Merchandise Ltd, who has been a BOA member for four years, added: “It was great to catch up with old connections on the day and indeed gain a couple of new contacts.

“The day was very well organised and despite the rain all the teams battled on and made the most of the day. It was a great to see Joe Lewis at the prize giving as his presence really added that extra special touch to what was a fantastic event.”
