AFC’s Official Youth Academy Partner, RAM Tubulars, have boosted their support in the community with a ticket giveaway for one of AFC Community Trust’s partner schools.

Thanks to the generous support of RAM Tubulars, 25 pupils from St Machar Academy received t wo tickets each for the Aberdeen v Hibernian match last week.

AFCCT’s partner schools’ initiative helps to reduce the poverty related attainment gap through a range of health and wellbeing interventions.

RAM Tubulars Managing Director Jim Stewart said: “Our partnership with Aberdeen FC has not only allowed us to increase our support of young talent and build a relationship that benefits the players of the Youth Academy, but it also allows us to engage and nurture young fans across the North-East.

“With unique initiatives like this ticket giveaway we can give these youngsters and their families the opportunity to experience a matchday at Pittodrie, something which they otherwise may not be in a position to do.”

When asked what these tickets giveaway’s mean to the pupils, AFCCT Community Projects Officer, Lois Walker, commented: “It was fantastic to be able to reward the youngsters we work alongside with these tickets.

“Our young people absolutely love attending games, but for so many this is not an option due to the cost attached, so to be able to remove that barrier is brilliant.”

RAM Tubulars, service leaders in tubulars for the energy and construction Industries, signed a three-year deal to become an Official Supporter of Aberdeen FC’s Bobby Clark Youth Academy earlier this season.

A long-term supporter of Aberdeen FC, RAM Tubulars were keen to strengthen its relationship with the Club. A key driver in their decision was the opportunity to bolster the ‘pipeline’ of young talent coming through the ranks at Pittodrie.

A champion of young, local sports talent in the North-East, RAM Tubulars has been title sponsor of female race car driver, Hannah Chapman, for over six years and also sponsors young athletes in the Grampian Athletics League; the RAM Athletics League.
