There was success for the Club at Aberdeen’s Sports Awards last night as the event returned after a two year absence due to the pandemic.

Hosted by Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, the event took place at P&J Live in front of around 400 guests representing sponsors, sports clubs and organisations from across the city.

Firstly, AFC Women co-manager, Emma Hunter, was Highly Commended in the ‘Performance Coach of the Year’ Category.

And later in the evening the AFC Women’s team collected the award for ‘Team Performance of the Year’ after their outstanding campaign in 2020-21 which saw them gain promotion back to SWPL1 at the first time of asking.

Emma was joined on stage to pick up the award by captain Kelly Forrest, Francesca Ogilvie and Eilidh Shore- who had narrowly missed out on the award for ‘Student Sports Achiever of the Year’ earlier in the evening.

Congratulations to Emma, AFC Women and all the nominees & award winners on the night. You can find out the other winners on the night on the event website- click here to view.
