“It is disappointing to concede late on but I thought performance wise we were a lot better. After Wednesday night we knew we had to lift our levels, we were not good enough. I thought we came here and played some good football, we were brave on the ball and more positive. We are disappointed to come off the pitch having lost the game.

“I thought we could have nicked a point. In the first half I thought that we were really good but we dropped off it a bit in the second half. That is just because of the energy we put into the first half and Rangers dominated the latter part of the second half. They started to get more crossed into the box, it was a tight game.

“Our confidence is quite low having lost a few games but we showed today that we can come to Ibrox and play. A few games we have played a bit longer and it has not suited us, a bit more possession is better for us and trying to build. It suits us better with the players we have. I thought it showed today in the first half especially, as a group we know that we are good enough. We just need to try and get some clean sheets and wins.

“We have got three games, we know that they are winnable. We need to go and put in the performance that we did in the first half, be brave on the ball, especially when the crowd gets on top. I think we have enough in the dressing room to get the points.

“I get on well with Declan both on and off the pitch. We have had a few games together in a row now, I thought he was very good today. He needed the run of games, I know what it is like. It is starting to show as he is playing well.”
