Paul Sheerin departs the Dons
Aberdeen Football Club confirms coach Paul Sheerin has left the Club to become manager at Scottish League One side Falkirk FC.
Brought back to Pittodrie in 2014 by Derek McInnes, Paul initially signed for the Dons during the centenary year and would go on and make 56 first team appearances. He re-joined as Under 20’s manager and by the time Paul’s first season was over his young Dons had been crowed Development League champions.
An experienced and highly regarded coach with previous managerial experience at Arbroath, Paul became an integral member of the first team coaching staff during his seven years in the North-east. Following the departure of Derek McInnes, Paul became interim first team manager before Stephen Glass was appointed.
In recent years Paul made a major contribution to the development of some of our bright young talent, giving debuts to Jack MacKenzie and Calvin Ramsay, both of whom have recently committed their long-term future to the Dons.
Manager Stephen Glass has expressed his thanks to Paul for his dedicated years of service to AFC.
“Paul brought stability to the Club during his interim period, and it was great to be able to utilise his knowledge and experience during the latter period of last season.
“He has been offered a great opportunity to go and manage in his own right and I’ve no doubt he will make a success of it.”
Everyone at the Club would like to wish Paul all the very best in his future career.
