“I am delighted to be back out on the pitch. I have been out for almost three months to the day so it is great to be back out there playing with the boys and to top it off with a goal makes it even more sweeter.

“My pectoral muscle came out of the bone, so I had to have surgery to reattach it. The surgery went well, and the recovery and rehabilitation has been really really good. I can’t thank the physio team here enough to get me back ahead of schedule. It wasn’t a nice injury; I was in a sling for four weeks and couldn’t do much but thankfully I am back out playing.

“I was meant to be out for four to six months; I would have been lucky to have made it back for the start of pre-season but to get back this season I have to give real credit to Adam Stokes and the physios, and I had the willingness to get back and to be amongst it.

“We took the injury week by week. When you are in a cast the physios have to move your arm for you because you can’t move it yourself. It was baby steps, but I have got back outside and been in the gym and I was then allowed to go back into training with the boys and now into games.

“I have been really impressed with the manager and Allan. I think Scott Brown is a good acquisition and hopefully now we can have a good end to the season and look forward to next season. It is always nice under a new manager to play games and I now have two games left to show what I can do ahead of next season.

“It was really good to get the goal. Even to get on was really nice and to top it off with a goal is probably the best way that it could have ended.

“I will see how my body reacts to being back playing and if I am on the bench against Hibs and can come on then great. If I am fit enough to start, then perfect.”

“On the whole it has been a poor season by our standards, but we have got two games to put it right. Hibs come to us next Wednesday and it is a massive game for us.
