Red Matchday 10 | Aberdeen v Hibernian
Friday night’s programme for the SPFL Premiership game between Aberdeen and Hibernian is available to buy on the Curtis Sport website. Order on Wednesday to make sure you have your copy in time for the game.
Much of the publication remembers Ebbe Skovdahl who sadly passed away last week. Ebbe joined the Club in 1999 and spent four years at Pittodrie, leading the Dons to two national cup finals. Everyone associated with Aberdeen remembers Ebbe with great fondness and that very much comes across in the tributes paid by staff and players who worked under our former manager.
“Ebbe was a very nice man and always very supportive to me with the youth set up. When we played Celtic in the Youth Cup final, I asked Ebbe if I could field two players who were on the fringe of the first team, Darren Mackie and Kevin McNaughton. He gave his permission and we went on to win the cup.
“After the game at Hampden he and Chairman Stewart Milne came into the dressing room to congratulate the boys and Ebbe showed his appreciation by convincing the Chairman to give them a small bonus, resulting in the loudest cheer of the night!”

Also packed in the 68 pages is an interview with Ryan Edmondson
“Like Aberdeen, Leeds is a one city club. The likes of Pablo Hernandez, the captain Liam Cooper and Luke Ayling, I doubt that they can go anywhere in the city without being recognised. Even for us young boys, we do get it quite a lot. I think every Leeds fan must know every player down to the under 18s, they are very obsessive with their support.
“Even after only playing a few games for Leeds, you do get spotted when you are out and about, you get asked for photos, you have conversations with the fans. We are normal people and it is nice to have those conversations with fans, it helps them as much as it helps us to have that faith in your club. It gives us a massive advantage having that relationship with the fans and to have that trust with them.
“The celebrations after getting promoted were a bit mad – I don’t think the supporters have stopped yet! Having 16 years out of the Premier League for such a big club was massive. For the lads to be able to get us back into the Premier League was unbelievable.”
