#StillStandingFree - Matchday Two

02 April 2020
Author Aberdeen FC Media Team

Tomorrow night (Friday 3rd April) we should have been all set to welcome Hearts here to Pittodrie for Friday Night Football under the lights…

We might not be able to do that but as part of our #StillStandingfree campaign we are calling on all members of the Red Army to recreate your matchday experience from the safety of your own home!

There are many ways to get involved:

  1. Working from home? Adapt your new office to show your colours and get in the spirit of matchday.
  2. Show your colours by wearing kit, hats or scarves
  3. Decorate your home with a scarf on your window or a flag in your garden
  4. For younger fans, have a go at drawing your favourite players or our mascots and display them around the house.
  5. Take to the outdoors and recreate your favourite goals and celebrations whilst kitted out in red.
  6. Get in touch with friends and family who you would normally share matchday at Pittodrie with and reminisce over matchday memories.
  7. Donate part (or all) of your usual matchday costs to AFCCT’s JustGiving campaign.
  8. Your daily exercise – go for a ‘walk to Pittodrie’ and walk the distance you normally would to a matchday wearing your Dons kit.
  9. Post any favourite pictures/memories from previous Friday Night Football.

Be sure to upload your show of support through social media using #StillStandingFree!

Your Friday Night Football

We are hosting a watch party on the AFC YouTube Channel and will be a showing a full replay of our 7-2 victory over Motherwell in 2017 from 7.45pm tomorrow! With nine goals, a hattrick & a goal of the season winner under the lights at Pittodrie we are in for an entertaining 90 minutes.

Click here to visit the watch page and join us at 7.45pm on Friday!

Donate your matchday costs to our #StillStandingFree

If you can, donating the cost of your half-time pie, pre-match pint(s), matchday programme or travel costs to our StillStandingFree campaign will enable AFCCT to make more deliveries of food to reduce food poverty, supporting children during the school closures and delivering to those who are isolating.

Over £10,000 has been raised so far and by supporting this initiative your donation will help support some of the most vulnerable people in our community in the coming months.

You can donate online here.

Wordsearch – Maths Edition

Use the maths questions down the side to find each player’s squad number, with the player’s surname hidden in the wordsearch.

For example: 25 ÷ 5 = 5, so you would look for McKenna in the wordsearch.
