Aberdeen FC can this morning confirm the transfer of Ross County youngster Mark Gallagher. He joins on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

The central midfielder made his debut for the Staggies’ first team when he came on as a substitute during the 5-0 win over Greenock Morton in the Ladbrokes Championship in October 2018. At the end of last season he made a second appearance against Falkirk.

The 18-year-old, who was born in Newcastle and grew up in Elgin, will join The Dons development squad. Mark played against Paul Sheerin’s side in the SPFL Reserve Cup earlier in the campaign.

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes added, “I’m pleased to get Mark on board. Hopefully, if he shows the same level of commitment my staff and I will put into him, he can become a first team player for this club in the future.”

Everyone at AFC welcomes Mark to Pittodrie and wishes him all the very best with his career in the North-east.
