New partnership increases presence in energy sector

Two brands with a global presence, GAC Group and Aberdeen Football Club (AFC), have announced a new partnership that sees GAC become AFC’s first Official Logistics Partner.

With the Club sitting at the heart of the European energy capital and with a truly international network of fans, the partnership provides an exciting opportunity for GAC to bring its brand, products and services to a global audience.

The deal includes branding within the stadium on match days and across the Club’s social and digital channels, enabling GAC to engage with Aberdeen FC fans in its global locations.

Stuart Bowie, GAC’s Group Vice President, Commercial commented, “Not only does our partnership with the Dons give the GAC brand great visibility locally and globally within the energy sector, it allows us to forge longer, stronger relationships with our clients and partners. It’s the perfect match – football is all about teamwork, timing, dexterity, precision and smart moves – qualities that GAC’s customers look for in an energy sector partner.”

Aberdeen FC’s Commercial Director, Rob Wicks, added: “As a high-profile football brand with a global audience, we are excited about this new partnership and looking forward to working with a player of GAC’s calibre.

“Our range of social and digital channels have extended the club’s reach and helped to accelerate both awareness and growth. We always want to ensure our content remains relevant to fans and is delivered to them when and how they want it. This new partnership will help to do just that.

“The agreement strengthens the Club’s desire to broaden its digital footprint, successfully monetise our content and, above all, deliver a successful partnership. It’s a proud moment for the club to be included in the GAC sports sponsorship portfolio which includes tour professional golfers George Coetzee, Richard Sterne, Shiv Kapur and Nicole Broch Larsen, as well as Team GAC Pindar in sailing.”
