We are proud to announce the launch of our new Matchday Safeguarding Team in a further step to enhance the matchday experience for supporters.

Several years ago, the club introduced dedicated Stand Reps and the matchday team was bolstered further by the introduction of a Supporter Engagement Team last season.

Working alongside AFC’s Safeguarding Officer, Richard Taylor, staff from both of those areas will now form the new Safeguarding Team having completed mandatory SFA training and workshops around the subject of Protection and Wellbeing. All staff have also taken part in the PVG scheme qualifying them to undertake regulated work throughout matchdays.

The team is made up of four Supporter Engagement Team staff; Ross Finnie, Victoria Lucero, Aleen Shinnie and Kelly McLeod, and two Stand Reps; Karen McNiven and Alex Venters. Their remit will be to ensure that a positive experience is had by all, particularly children and vulnerable members of the crowd.
