Paul Sheerin previewed the game recently when he spoke to Andrew Shinie:

“No disrespect to some of the Highland league teams we have beaten this season, but this is step up.

“Brora have been up and around the top end of the Highland League table for the last four or five years. They are a successful side who actually beat us 5-0 in a pre-season game about three years ago.

“So we know they are a very tough opponent. It is going to be a difficult game, there is no getting away from that.

“When you look at our team that played at Deveronvale last week, it is young and littered with U18s.

“We will prepare them the best we can. We will go there and give it our all and try and get through it.

“These games are really difficult. People think an Aberdeen team should go to these places and win games but it is not as easy as that. Brora are a side who have a lot of good seasoned professionals.

“So a very tough game.

“But it is all part of the learning curve. We have been fortunate enough to have got through the first round the last couple of seasons and then had some great draws. We played Inverness CT at Brechin, that game was a tremendous experience for the boys, as was Raith Rovers last year.

“As difficult as these games are, they are brilliant challenges. Really good learning tools for the players.”
