Connor spoke to Dave Macdermid ahead of the team training on the pitch on Wednesday night.

“It was a real kick in the teeth losing the late goal last week.

“But I felt we showed enough to give us confidence heading into this tie and we believe that we can get the result that we need.

“I also think we can take confidence from our away record last season. Away from home we were very strong and had a lot of good results. Hopefully we can do the same this year. We will certainly prepare the same way as that seemed to work for us.

“It is an exciting tournament to be in. If we get through, then we have another game next Thursday and one the week after that. There is a lot of travelling but it is something we are all used to now. Even the younger players have still been on quite a number of these trips in the past, even if it is just to come and help the kitman.

“We go into every game expecting to win and this game will be no different.

“We know that if we get anywhere near the same level of performance as last week then we can get a positive result.

“I had a few niggles when I came back for pre-season but I been working away with the phyisos and I am pretty much there now.

“I am excited about the season ahead and for me personally I feel that I can build on what I did last season.”
