“I thought we were great today.

“I took a wee bit of responsibility in terms of shape at the start as it was not quite right, but once we made the change and got going I thought we were pretty clinical for the main.

“All are good goals in terms of build-up and different parts of play, so I’m really pleased with that, also pleased with the clean sheet. We would have liked to score more, but Robbie Mutch made a couple of great saves and it could have been seven or eight in the end.

“For the first goal you’d put your mortgage on Bruce when he is in that position (in front of goal). It was a great header for his second as well and he’s always a threat in and around the box and he showed that first half with three or four efforts that are just shaving the post.

“I’m pleased for him to get a couple of goals and he comes off a wee bit frustrated, which I don’t mind to a certain degree as he wanted the chance of a hat-trick. Dangana has been brilliant for me as well and he deserved a few minutes.

“I’m pretty confident it’s a (deliberate) goal from Morgan. It’s good play from Miko, who I thought was excellent throughout the afternoon. It was good support from him and a good cutback for a really good finish.

“And Seb produces a good finish as well.

“I hope it’s a good one (seniors impact on young players) and I hope they learn from the senior players when they come into the reserves. It’s always tough for them to come in and play, but the gaffer wanted minutes in them so for the two of them to get 90 minutes is pleasing and for the younger ones to learn from them. Some of Forrester’s touches were incredible and Gleeson just talks the other ones round about him through the game, so it’s brilliant for them to experience playing with these sort of players.

“The aim is to win games and ultimately you want players to get through and into the first team. The main aim is the development, but once you’re playing in these competitions you want to go as far as you can and at the minute we’ve given ourselves a good opportunity to get through to the semi-final stage.

“It’s been a wee bit stop-start in terms of playing with the break in fixtures here and there, so we’ve not really got going on a consistent level week to week, so it’s been a bit difficult with that.

“If you can go and win games, and if you can keep the performance levels high, which they were at Celtic and again today, I will continue to be pleased.”
