The AFC Community Trust has teamed up with two local primary schools to help deliver projects that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of its pupils. Tullos and Walker Road Primary schools are at the centre of the The Torry Partnership Schools project, which is one of many for the Trust and with the launch of the brand-new home strip this week one of the pupils from Walker Road was the lucky recipient of the shirt courtesy of a donation from a Dons supporter.

Primary 5 pupil, Harvey Smith, who has been involved in the project and in particular the breakfast club programme was awarded the shirt for his remarkable progress throughout the year. The shirt was handed over to the Trust as a goodwill gesture by AberDNA member, Steven Ross and Harvey was presented his new shirt in the classroom alongside his classmates.

Steven, who doesn’t get to many Aberdeen matches as he lives abroad , contacted the club about giving away his shirt which he obtained through the AberDNA membership scheme.

AFCCT Assistant Community Coach, David Clark, who coordinates the programme, said “The aim of the project is to deliver and develop social and personal skills whilst having fun through football. “Harvey has improved significantly through our breakfast club programme and has shown he can implement that into the classroom. He is a well-deserved winner.”

Congratulations on your new shirt Harvey. We hope to see you wearing it at Pittodrie soon.
