Overwhelming survey response sees Dons fans positive about new stadium plans and membership scheme.

Earlier this month we asked supporters to give feedback on a number of issues ahead of what will be a crucial period as we aim to make continued progress on the pitch with the ultimate aim of becoming a UEFA Top 100 Club.

Firstly, we would like to say thank you to every one of the 6,000+ supporters who responded to the survey.

The response was much greater than we anticipated and gives us a solid basis for putting together a membership scheme with compelling benefits which will excite and engage all of our supporters around the world. Encouragingly 97% of supporters indicated that they would consider becoming a member of AFC. Of those supporters 94% said that they would like to see funds raised from the membership scheme used exclusively to support the football operation.

Secondly, we received some insightful feedback from supporters regarding the new stadium development and the features that you see as being key to making the move a success for everyone. The good news is that a number of features which are already being considered including a dedicated fan zone, a museum and a safe standing section appeared to be important to most supporters.

It is clear that improving the matchday experience is the most important theme and that is something that we will explore every avenue to achieve, not only at the new stadium but also while we remain at Pittodrie. We will also be taking the opportunity to look further into some of the interesting ideas which were put forward in the comments section.

Finally, we would like to reiterate that it is our intention to hold a much more extensive consultation with our supporters in the coming weeks and months as we aim to provide a stadium which everyone can be proud of.
