Fletcher and Jack take home the awards

The Texo Drone Talent of The Month awards for November have been announced. Fletcher Boyd of the U10’s team picked up the Young Talent trophy and Jack Chesser of the U17’s took the award in the older category after both players had an exceptional month for their respected sides. The awards recognise the performances of the players in the AFC Youth Academy and continues to highlight the good work coming from across all of the squads.

Head of Youth Academy, Neil Simpson said “Jack Chesser has come through the SFA performance school and right through the academy at AFC since nine years of age. His performances have been outstanding, especially how he played against Hamilton for the U20s recently and was one of the top players that day.

He’s a very skillful player with good technique, who plays predominately in midfield and thoroughly deserves to be the Talent of The Month.”

In the younger category, Fletcher Boyd has proven that if you’re good enough then you’re old enough after his recent performances for the U11’s side helped him swoop the November award, despite being an U10 player.

Gavin Levey, Head of Academy Coaching spoke about Fletcher’s month. “Fletcher has had a really good month in November. He’s played in eight games and had three opportunities to play at U11’s, which he’s taken really well. The way he’s trained is exactly how he likes to play.

“He had a very strong performance against Hearts in the year above and then polished the month off by scoring four goals against St Mirren. He’s a good youngster who’s come into the academy this year, settled in really well and looks like he plays the game with real enjoyment. He’s a real credit to the boy’s club he’s come from up at Deveron Youth in Banff.”

Congratulations to both players on their awards.
