Dons Captain, Graeme Shinnie led his team mates on their annual festive tour of Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital this afternoon as they took time out of their training schedule, ahead of the game against Dundee on Friday night, to deliver some Christmas cheer to the sick kids of the North East.

Graeme, who was joined by the entire first team, visited the wards handing out a variety of AFC gifts to the brave youngsters and their families.

The players spent over two hours on the wards happily posing for photographs and signing autographs while handing out gifts.

All the gifts were bought with money contributed by each player in the home dressing room and a generous donation from the club.

Graeme was delighted to play his part in making the visit such a success. “It’s always very humbling for us to spend time with the children during our visit to the hospital. We’re always amazed at how positive the youngsters are, it really is an experience that puts football into perspective.

“The staff at the hospital, many of whom have become friends of the club over the years, go above and beyond to look after the youngsters during this difficult time of year and it’s a privilege for us to be able to meet the children and their families. Hopefully we brought some festive cheer to them all.”

“On behalf of everyone at AFC we wish them all a very Merry Christmas”
