Ryan and Kenny impress for Scotland

This evening at Pittodrie Kenny McLean and Ryan Christie both started for Scotland, Ryan making his debut for his country at this level. Graeme Shinnie was named on the bench.

A crowd of 17,883 turned up to see the first Scotland game at the stadium since 2013 – meaning that the Scotland fans virtually sold out their allocation.

As for the game, Scotland put in a very encouraging performance with many of the newcomers to the side performing well, including Kenny and Ryan.

However, Malky Mackay’s side went down to a 1-0 defeat after Lyon’s Mephis Depay slotted home midway through the first half after an impressive break. Scotland had a couple of decent chances to score late on but failed to find the net.
