“The three boys who have been selected for Scotland have all played well this season and fully deserve their opportunity. All the boys in the dressing room are delighted for them.

“They have been consistent all year and now they have their rewards.

“I have found it a bit strange looking on in the past why there were no Aberdeen players in the Scotland squad. I am not sure what that was down to but in my opinion and what I have seen this season they are all top players, players who can play at the top level. Now though these guys have a chance to show what they can do.

“It gives everyone in the dressing room a lift because we know that people are watching us. It is something we all dream of doing.

“Every time we have had a bad result we have bounced back straight away and gone on a good run after it. The reaction after a defeat is so important. It was good to have a game so quickly after the Celtic defeat because you have to just move on.

“There is a great bunch of boys in that dressing room. We all stick together whether we win or lose.

“We want to go into the game on Saturday and get the three points, but we know it will be a tough game against Hamilton, it always is against them. We want to go into the last break of the year with a positive result, then we can prepare for the busy spell that is coming up in November and December.

“It is tough place to go. I know in the past people have expressed their opinions on the pitch but we have to go there and do a job and there can be no excuses.”
