“It’s another home game that we are looking forward to.

“We want to keep the pressure on Celtic at the top of the league, but it’s always a tough game. They’ve done well for the last few seasons and they are always a hard team to play against with a lot of experience. Whatever they do seems to work and it seems to click every season.

“But for us its only about us. If we apply our game on them hopefully we can do enough to get the three points.

“We’ve got a difficult period coming up and although we got put out the cup we bounced straight back on Sunday. It’s the last game before the international break so it would be massive to get a victory going into the other games coming up.

“We take every game as it comes, Saturday will be a tough game, but it’s all about us and what we do so we need to see what happens.

“Last week was a massive win after the disappointment of the previous game. All the boys were angry with the way we played, but all you want to do is get a game as quick as possible and it was Motherwell again so there was no better place to go.

“The boys showed great character and although it wasn’t pretty sometimes that’s how it goes. We showed we weren’t just about pretty football and showed that we can go and dig deep.

“On a personal level, I feel I could be doing better.

“It’s not worked out that way yet, but I come in every day and work hard in training and that’s all you can do. We’ve got a big squad with a lot of good players, but for me I expect myself to do a lot better. Hopefully if I keep working hard it will eventually turn.

“Match sharpness of being in and out of the team has been a little frustrating, but that’s down to myself because I’ve not played as well as I should be, but I will keep working hard and hopefully it comes good.

“It’s a big squad here and when you go to big clubs that’s what it’s all about. You need to fight for your place and if you don’t take that chance you’ll find yourself on the bench. As a team we’ve done well, but I wouldn’t say we’ve hit our peak yet. There’s a lot of new faces and still some gelling to be done to find our best team and formation. For me I just want to keep working hard.

“We aren’t playing our best, but still winning games. That is encouraging. It’s not a bad habit to be in so this weekend is massive for us to get the win and get ourselves into the break it will give us the chance to keep chasing Celtic and hopefully it puts a gap between us and the rest of the teams.

“We want to take one game at a time and not look to far ahead. This weekend we want to get the three points and take it from there.”
