Earlier this month, 15-year-old Joe Sutherland provided a donation totalling £1,000 to Aberdeen FC Community Trust after he organised a fundraising match held in memory of his dad Steve Sutherland who went missing from an offshore platform.

The Steve Sutherland Memorial Match involved Lewis United Select v Lewis Hoops Select and took place ay Spain Park on 17th June.

Aberdeen FC Vice-Chairman George Yule attended the match and also donated some AFC items to help with fundraising.

Aberdeen FC Community Trust was chosen to receive the funds by Joe and his mum Elaine as they wanted to help support local people.

AFCCT Chief Executive Ally Prockter said, “This is a very kinds and positive gesture resulting from a very sad situation. I can’t thank Joe and Elaine enough for this generous donation to AFCCT.

Well done to everyone involved in raising this money at Lewis United and beyond.”
