Stars of tomorrow set to benefit from Stand Free Youth Developement donation

04 August 2017

For the seventh year in a row the Aberdeen Football Club Youth Academy has received a fantastic donation from Stand Free Youth Development.

A generous £18,000 has been raised to help continue the work done by the Club’s Youth Academy, which now brings the total figure since 2011 to over £150,000. Alan Moir and Graham Fyfe of Fyfe Moir & Associates initially contacted Willie Miller and Head of Youth Academy, Neil Simpson with the idea to raise funds for the club and the youth programme being the main benefactor.

In recent years the Young Dons sides have travelled abroad and competed against elite academies at tournaments, with the continued support from the Stand Free Youth Development ensuring such trips can take place.

Neil said “We’re really thankful for the support from the committee. Year on year their commitment has been fantastic and they are huge fans of the club so it’s great to see them supporting. Each year they’ve held a quiz and dinner, which has been extremely successful. The funding has helped contribute to our programme and with the new stadium and training facilities it will allow for the development of coaches and new opportunities for the club.”
