St Johnstone Post Match | Graeme Shinnie

29 April 2017

Graeme Shinnie

“A bad day at the office.

“No excuses. We did not turn up on the day. We did not play anywhere near as well as we can which is disappointing. We had a couple of good chances and if one of them goes it would have been a different game. But they didn’t and ultimately, we let St Johnstone into it. If you give them an opportunity then they are going to take it.

“It was a sloppy goal from our point of view. Once they go a goal up they are good at holding onto it.

“The tempo we normally play at was not there. The slick passing was not there.

“So we are really frustrated. It was a really bad day.

“Like every game, we will study the 90 minutes to see where we can improve. The focus then goes onto next week. There is nothing we can do about this game now. We have to try and put this behind us during the week. We have to have a good working week ahead of next weekend’s game.

“The fact the game is on Sunday gives us slightly longer to prepare.

“We have been on the right of results against St Johnstone this season so it was disappointing to finish our games against them with a defeat.

“It has been a long hard season but there is still hard work ahead of us. We have so much still to do. The boys will all be keen to get into training and pinpoint what we did wrong.

“We are still in a strong position and if we win next week that position will be even stronger.”
