After helping the Dons to another clean sheet on Tuesday night, a fifth in consecutive games, defender Anthony O’Connor spoke to RedTV:

“The game was very different to Friday but it is another win.

“Inverness are fighting for their lives. They came here to try and take something from home. We knew it was not going to be easy. Every game is different and we knew it would be a tough battle.

“If I am honest we were not fully at it tonight. Maybe at about 60%. But even at that we were still the better team and were still able to get the win. We are happy to get another three points and we move onto the game on Sunday.

“Although the performance was maybe not as good as Friday night people cannot complain because we are winning. We are putting three points on the table almost every week. Although we wanted to put up a better fight Celtic have won the league so we now have a battle for second spot. Teams are looking up at us but there is still work to be done. Regardless of that, it is still important we finish with as many points as we can so we send out a statement for next season.

“There was not much talk about us ahead of this season but we have a really strong group. A great bunch of lads and that shows on the pitch every week. We have not done too badly. We were in the final of the League Cup, we are in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup and are second in the league. So it has not been a bad old season, especially if we can get to another cup final and even win it. That is what we will be looking to do.

“There is a real desire to keep doing well. The gaffer gets on to us every week, we have to keep putting in performances and not give anyone encouragement and that is what we are doing.

“Our focus though is completely on Sunday. We will be looking to get the three points.”
