Some of the valid reasons for support which you may wish to use:

•    The proposed stadium, training and community facilities at Kingsford, which represent a £50m investment in the region at a time when the economy is struggling, will bring confidence and economic benefits to the region including the creation of new jobs. Combined with facilities such as the Sports Village, this development will help position the North-east as a sporting powerhouse.

•    The extension of the AFC Community Trust facilities is vital to extend the reach of the charity which provides services and support to a wide range of communities and people across the region and is helping to improve overall health and well-being.

•    The Kingsford site is ideal for a development of this type as the AWPR provides excellent accessibility for both home and away fans. It also links the site up with a number of park and ride facilities across the city making the stadium and community facilities easily accessible. Research of fans by AFC reveals that the majority come from the north and west of the region.

•    The site is currently serviced by a number of public bus services making it easily accessible.

•    Co-location of training facilities, youth academy, community facilities and stadium is essential to the Club’s future on and off the pitch. It will improve the attraction and retention of player and management talent. Bringing all of these elements together on one site creates an unrivalled opportunity to maximise one team spirit at the Club.

•    The stadium design is modern and would create a building the region can be proud of. It will dramatically improve the match day experience for fans, while minimising the impact of light and noise for nearby residents.

•    The community facilities, including 3G pitches and multi-purpose space, will provide excellent and much-needed facilities for a number of community groups.

*There is also a ‘Say YES To Kingsford’ site which has very quickly accumulated more than a thousand supporters.
