“Yes I did mean it! (my goal)

“I have heard Graeme Shinnie questioned whether I meant it on the RedTV commentary!

“I did not mean it to go as perfectly as it did but it was a shot and I am very happy with it.

“One of my best goals to this point was against Aberdeen for Inverness but I think that I topped it tonight.

“From start to finish the boys were unbelievable. For the first part we blew Motherwell off their feet which was part of the game plan. We knew we needed to come out and start off on the front foot. We did not want to let them get into the game. For the first half hour or so we were brilliant. Every time we went forward we looked like we would score. We got a shot away or scored a goal which was a very positive thing.

“We had the concentration and stability to see out the game in the second half.

“A few of the defensive boys are annoyed at losing the goals but I think it was a small negative on the night. Losing goals from two set pieces is something we will look at though. Peter has then come off the bench and chipped in with a late goal to round off the night on a positive note.

“All the substitutes again did well. It was a good performance from the whole squad.
“Every single time I have played with or against Adam, he has scored score goals! He knows where the back of the net is. He is one of those players, I really enjoyed playing alongside him and linking with him. He is very easy to play off. He deserved his hat-trick and he could easily have had more.

“It is good though we have goals coming from all over the park. Ryan Jack and Kenny could easily have got on the scoresheet as well.

“When you look at our attacking players tonight, it is easy for me to get on the ball when you have Adam, Niall or Jonny making runs in front of you. It makes my life a lot easier. When you give the ball to Jonny or Niall you know they are going to be positive.

“The main reason for the loan move was to get game time so I was delighted to start. Starting tonight, I felt that I needed to prove a point or show what I could bring to Aberdeen. So from that point of view I was very happy to get on the score sheet. I am just happy to have played my part.

“The fans were brilliant tonight for me and all the players. I really appreciate the reception I got when I came off. I feel I have now embedded myself in the club.

“I have loved every moment since I stepped through the door.”
