SC5RD | Shay Logan Post Match
SHAY LOGAN
Goal scoring hero Shay Logan spoke to RedTV after the game:
“That is five goals that I have now scored against Ross County. I don’t why it is that I seem to do so well against them, but I’ll take that! I know for a fact that I have never scored as many goals against another team.
“This was such an important goal as well, especially as it came late on. It is just really pleasing to get over the line with the lads. The boys put in a great performance and it was a game which we thoroughly deserved to win.
“Getting the winner, it is always a nice feeling, but the main happiness at the full-time whistle came just from the fact we are into the next round.
“Sometimes it is not about the performance in a cup game, it is just the results that matters, getting yourselves into the draw for the next round and giving yourself a chance to progress further. Nothing else matters.
“But saying that, we put in a very good, strong performance.
“Ross County are a good side, who beat us up here in December. They are always a strong team to play against, a side we have a lot of respect for. You have to take your chances when you play them and thankfully, one fell for me.
“We had a lot of chances through the game and it looked like we might end up frustrated. Their keeper is very good, he has made some good saves, they had some last-ditch tackles and made some good blocks. To finally get the ball over the line, it took a deflection, my shot hit a defender on the way through, but that bit of luck is sometimes what you need.
“The number of fans we had there was incredible. We really appreciate their support. It really does make a difference, especially in tight games, and there is no doubt they helped us get over the line. We especially appreciate their support because we know the weather and travel conditions were challenging.”
