Niall spoke to RedTV after scoring two goals, one of them a goal of the season contender, and he also got an assist for the other. He was rightly named Man of the Match.

“The goal has to be up there, it was just instinct as the ball was coming in diagonally.

“I’ve got it recorded so will go back and watch it tonight!

“It is something I have been working at.

“I have been shooting a lot with my left foot recently and thankfully the goals have been going in.

“I saw that big Ash was going up for the header and knew there was more than a chance he would win it. Thankfully it fell nicely. I took a touch with my right thigh and swung my left at it. I was delighted to see it hit the right side of the post and go in.

“For my second goal again I knew when Jonny gets into that position then a ball would come over so I made the run. It was a great cross and I was pleased to see my header go in.

“Thankfully I was in the right place at the right time.

“I was playing a bit narrower in the second half playing off Adam so that is why I was in that position in the box.

“I was delighted for Ryan getting on the score sheet as well. The manager wants myself, Kenny, Graeme and Ryan to chip in with goals. We can’t rely on Adam all the time.

“I went to the by-line and I didn’t actually know it was Ryan that scored the goal until he ran away celebrating with his weird celebration! There was probably three or four of the guys there who could have scored it so just delighted to see it hit the back of the net.

“We spoke before the game about wanting to win five games out of five and we have done that. A clean sheet was nice as well.

“So, all in all a good night all round.”
